New Feature Enabled - Domain Aliases

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

We’ve enabled a new feature in the Account Manager called Domain Aliases.  This gives you the ability to specify additional domains that are “aliases” of the primary domain.  This is for listing domains that essentially point to the same set of users as the primary domain.

While you CAN just add the alias domains as standard domains, the advantage of using the aliases functionality is that the gateway doesn’t need to keep track of valid users for multiple domains, which means less SMTP traffic checking to see if the user is valid.  Additionally, it means that any whitelists that are set up for the primary domain will be applied to the aliases as well.

The alias domains feature can be found under the “manage” link for each domain.
