Quarantine Branding Now Available

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

We’ve enabled the new quarantine branding system for our users.  To custom brand your quarantine, log in to the Account Manager and click the link to enable custom branding.  Once you’ve done that, edit your branding settings and input your custom URL, “from” email address, custom CSS, and upload your logo.

A few notes:

  • Custom URL: You must DNS this hostname.domain.com to point to the appropriate IP address.  The IP address is listed on the branding screen
  • Custom CSS: The default CSS will be entered when you first enable branding.  Feel free to modify as necessary.
  • Quarantine Digests are not branded yet.  We should have this finished in the next couple of days.  I’ll post here when they’ve been updated.

Please note that branding is NOT restricted to your domains in any way.  In other words, the “face” of the site is updated with your branding but the internal workings of the site haven’t changed.  All Quarantine users can log in to the site, regardless of the “branded” url they use.

Please let us know if you have any questions.  Please remember that this is still sort of a “beta” feature, so there may be some bugs.  I haven’t found any in my testing, but you may come across some.  If so, please let us know.

Quarantine Digests Fixed

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

For those that have contacted us regarding not receiving quarantine digests since the server upgrade, thank you.  Digests have been fixed.  In fact, you should have just received a very long digest.

I won’t get too technical but essentially the problem was that as we migrated to the new server we took a little time to put into place a database change we had been working on to make the quarantine databases more efficient.  This change required us to make changes in our quarantine system code.  Unfortunately, the code we changed in the digest process had a problem with it and it has taken us a bit to track down the bug and squash it.

Thank you for your patience, but I believe that was the last migration-related issue we had left to fix.  If you know of any other problems, please let us know.

Recent Cleveland Issues and Migration Plan

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

As many of you are aware, we have been having problems with our cleveland server, which houses the Quarantine System and the Account Manager.  We had done some drive repairing which temporarily helped things, but the drive in that server was failing.

I’m happy to announce that tonight we brought a new replacement cleveland server online.  All quarantine and account manager processes are now housed on the new server, which is much more powerful and robust than the previous server.

Please keep an eye on both the Account Manager and the Quarantine System over the next week or so and let us know if you notice anything not working.  We’re pretty sure that we got everything configured properly, but we might have missed something.

Thank you for your patience while we dealt with this issue.
